The Pink Cadillac box is actually my letterbox and I remember this controversy when it was originally planted. The road to the area where the box is located is the dividing line between Wexford and Missaukee counties, with the area technically being on the Missaukee side of the road. However, since it is a mystery box which does not give the city, I decided to list it in Wexford County as a clue to it's location, thinking that listing it in Missaukee County may result in it being overlooked by people planning an outing to the area. But for purposes of accuracy in identifying the first county boxes, and of course to inch us along in the MI/WI county race, I have corrected the LbNA listing to be Missaukee County. I have also made the appropriate changes to the Michigan Counties Project map and box listing, which can be found here:

So, the list of Michigan counties needing a letterbox is as follows:
Alcona
Arenac
Gladwin
Ionia
Iosco
Mecosta
Montcalm
Montmorency
Oscoda
Sanilac
Tuscola
I have two carved and ready to plant this weekend, which will shorten the list and will both be first in the county boxes, unless somebody beats me to the punch.

Well, at this point the number of Michigan counties listing a letterbox (11) is almost as big as the number of counties altogether in Arizona (15). Of course, Michigan already has 61 counties with letterboxes listed.

Night Writer, I am sure there are many states that already have a box in every county. But this is just a contest between Michigan and Wisconsin to see which of us can join those ranks first.
